What is a Bernedoodle like?
A Bernedoodle is a cross between a Bernese Mountain Dog and a Standard Poodle. Bernedoodles are intelligent, loving and gentle dogs. They are adaptable to country or city living because they thrive on human companionship and just want to be a part of the family! They love the outdoors but also love to snuggle up on the couch for a movie. Due to their affectionate nature, Bernedoodles are good candidates to become therapy dogs. Many of my puppies have gone on to be certified as therapy and/or service dogs.
What is a Merle Bernedoodle?
Merle is a term used to describe the pattern of a dogs coat.
Merle is a dilution gene, that is, it lightens whatever the coat color would otherwise have been. The lightening is not spread evenly over the coat, but leaves patches of undiluted color scattered over the dog's body. Also, the lightening seems to work primarily on the black pigment in the coat.
